Ex- Physician Faces Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Police have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
