Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, but can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.
My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
